Administration assists with the admission and pre-admission of patients, handles incoming calls and receives hospital payments.

The department provides hospital and patient information, assists with account queries and directs patients and visitors to the appropriate service.

Patients should bring identification and medical aid information where applicable and should avoid keeping valuables in the ward.

The RCH Hospital Pharmacy provides medication and clinical items to patients admitted to the hospital.

On discharge, patients may receive a seven-day supply of prescribed medication in accordance with medical aid requirements. Additional prescribed medication and clinical items can be obtained from Living Water’s Pharmacy.

The Clinical Store provides surgical and clinical items to admitted patients. A pharmacist is available on standby for hospital emergencies.

General surgery includes procedures used to establish a diagnosis, prevent or treat disease and relieve gastrointestinal and intra-abdominal disorders.

Endoscopic examinations and procedures use enhanced video imaging and minimally invasive techniques.

Neurosurgery includes procedures used to treat disorders of the spine and brain, including spinal trauma, spinal-cord injury or stenosis, head injuries and hydrocephalus.

Doctors’ consulting offices are a primary point for ambulatory care and are often the first place a sick person visits for medical attention, except during an emergency when the Casualty Unit should be used.

The Cath Lab is a specialised service used to diagnose and treat heart and vascular disease.

During catheterisation, a long thin catheter is inserted through a small incision, usually in the upper thigh, arm or neck, and guided through the blood vessels to the heart or other structures.

The laboratory uses specialised technology and trained staff to perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Roland Physiotherapy is a Namibian physiotherapy practice with services in Windhoek, Okahandja, Oshakati and Ongwediva.

Its hospital-based practice at Roman Catholic Hospital supports both admitted patients and out-patients, including patients recovering from surgery, illness or injury.

Medical Imaging at Roman Catholic Hospital provides diagnostic radiology using MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound and X-ray services.

The branch uses modern equipment, including a 1.5T MRI scanner, a 128-slice dual-source CT scanner and stereotactic digital mammography.
